X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Paints Bleak Picture of the Future

Continuing this week’s trend of blockbuster trailer releases, 20th Century Fox has released the trailer for the next movie in their X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse.

The first and most powerful mutant Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac, has awakened after a thousand years. Disillusioned with the world that surrounds him, he recruits four mutants to serve as his “horsemen.” Together, they’ll cleanse mankind and create a new world, over which Apocalypse will reign supreme. It’s up to Professor Charles Xavier and his team of X-Men, including Jubilee, Jean Grey, Scott Summers, and Mystique to save the world.

X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer and stars Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. It is scheduled for a May 27, 2016 release.
