The Show Must Go On, Now You Can With New S.H. Figuarts Freddie Mercury

One thing that is safe to say about Bandai’s Tamashii Nations is they are not afraid to venture off to the left. Sometime way left too. Announced this weekend at the New York Comic Con under the S.H. Figuarts line is one of the most famous rock stars from the 70’s and early 80’s, Freddie Mercury. The front man of the band Queen will soon be available in 6 inch form. A pleasant surprise for fans this weekend from the New York Comic Con was the Mortal Kombat 1/12th (6 inch) scale figures from Storm Collectibles. Hopefully a more detailed announcement with a first look at the figures will be happening soon.

Mezco Toyz Announces One:12 Collective The Dark Knight Mutant Leader Single Figure Release

For this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, one of Mezco’s exclusives was the One:12 Collective Dark Knight Batman and Mutant Leader Set. The set was a hit with fans, but I’m sure many others that already had the One:12 Collective Batman were wondering what about them. How will they get the Mutant Leader without buying the set. Well Mezco has you covered. There is a single release of the Mutant Leader figure coming. It will come with alternate heads (the set version did not), hands, crowbar, torch and standing base. No mention as to when the figure will be available for pre-order or release date.

The Muppets Are Back! Diamond Select Toys Announces Select Figures!

The Muppets are making a big comeback. They have had two hit movies and a what is looking like a new hit TV series too. A fantastic reveal from Diamond Select Toys came this weekend as they announced Muppet Select figures! Right now a Series 1 is planned with Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and Scooter. If the line is successful, additional series are planned and will be released. Based on this first look, I think we will be seeing more. What do you think?

Warner Bros. Gives Greenlight For The Killing Joke Animated Movie To Have A R-Rating

During the Batman: Bad Blood panel discussion at the New York Comic Con this weekend, producer James Tucker mentioned that Warner Bros. gave them permission to make the previously announced The Killing Joke animated movie R-rated. Tucker went on to say he has been given the permission, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it will be. As fans know, The Killing Joke is a very violent story. In the story The Joker shoots Batgirl/Barbara Gordon in the back paralyzing her, then proceeds to strip her clothes off and takes photos he then sends to her father, Commissioner Jim Gordon. This is a very dark and twisted story and it looks like the animation team will have the freedom to pursue it without restraints.
