Warner Bros. Backs Down From Standoff With Captain America 3, Moves Batman V Superman

hollywood-movie-newsWell the inevitable has happened. Warner Bros. has changed the release date for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. earlier this year, it was revealed that both Warner Bros. and Marvel would be releasing a movie on May 6, 2016. It was going to be a showdown between Captain America and Batman & Superman.

Well now it is being reported that Warner Bros. is backing down and changed the Batman V Superman date once again. Now it will be coming out on March 25, 2016. A smart move on the WB’s part if I do say so.

They also announced dates for future DC movies too. Along with Batman V Superman on March 25, 2016, we can look forward to other DC movies on:

Untitled DC Film – 08/05/16
Untitled DC Film – 06/23/17
Untitled DC Film – 11/17/17
Untitled DC Film – 03/23/18
Untitled Warner Animated Film – 05/25/18
Untitled DC Film – 07/27/18
Untitled WB Event Film – 11/16/18
Untitled DC Film – 04/05/19
Untitled Warner Animated Film – 05/24/19
Untitled DC Film – 06/14/19
Untitled DC Film – 04/03/20
Untitled DC Film – 06/19/20
Untitled WB Event Film – 11/20/20

Taking a page from Marvel’s playbook, they are laying claim to 13 dates from 2016 to 2020, 8 of which are earmarked for DC comic book films. Obviously nothing is set in stone for these placeholder dates, but you can see that Warner Bros. Is pretty ambitious, or desperate, depending on how you see it. (Source: The Wrap)
