Don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so far. Sure it is a little slow and has its problem, but it is getting better. Unfortunately my biggest issue with it is, not enough ties to and Easter Eggs from the Marvel Universe. No, your average viewer won’t get them most likely, but if you want to bring in your “geek” audience and grow it, then start adding those nods now.
With that said, it looks like a nod in the form of Victoria Hand will be coming to the show. Victoria was an accountant for S.H.I.E.L.D., who after she wrote a letter to Nick Fury was transferred to Portland, Oregon. She later became Norman Osborne’s deputy director of H.A.M.M.E.R. and after Osborne was exposed for all his wrong doings and Captain America took over at S.H.I.E.L.D., he reassigned her to assisting Luke Cage’s New Avengers. According to Latino-Review, Saffron Burrows (Boston Legal, Law & Order: Criminal Intent) has been cast in the role of Victoria. There are no other details available at this time, including which episode she will appear in. As this is a step in the right direction for the show, they need to step it up or risk not being renewed for a second season. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Tuesdays at 8pm EST on ABC.
