Unannounced Animated ‘Punisher’ Movie In The Works? Is The “Jessica Jones” TV Series Still A Possibility?

television-news-and-talkThe Punisher, in an animated movie. Yes, please. In a recent interview with comic news podcast site Word Balloon, Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb, let slip that there is an unannounced animated movie project that will be a direct to DVD featuring The Punisher and Black Widow. He also goes on to mention that there are currently 15 animated projects in various stages and only a few have been announced. So Marvel fans, sounds like there is potentially lots of interesting stuff on the horizon. (Source: Word Balloon via MarvelousNews)

Also, over at IGN, they have posted an interview with Melissa Rosenberg (Dexter, Twilight), who just happens to be the person that was helping to develop “AKA Jessica Jones” for Marvel/ABC. This project features Jessica Jones (aka Jewel) as a private detective in the Marvel Universe. And in recent reports the project had been put on the back burner. But apparently according to Rosenberg is still a real possibility and that it is being shopped around. Though ABC would be a logical home for another Marvel television series, she mentions that it would be a better fit on a cable network because of the mature nature of the project. I hope this project can find a home, because like the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, it would be cool to see other live-action perspectives of the Marvel Universe outside of the Marvel movie projects. Hopefully we’ll hear more on this soon. (Source: IGN)
