With the launch of the Robots in Disguise animated series, which debuts on the Cartoon Network in March, Hasbro’s Transformers saw its usual mix of toys aimed at a wide variety of collectors from all age groups. The new Mini-Con deployers are meant to mimic the play pattern of G1 Soundwave, who deployed cassettes to do his bidding, while the Combiner Wars continue with an impressive array of additions. G.I. Joe fans disappointed with the lack of Joe product at Toy Fair will be glad to know the Transformers design team has them in mind with the inclusion of an A-10 jet with a navy paint scheme and a Cobra logo on the wing (think Rattler) as part of the Combiner Wars line. Despite all the great Transformers reveals, nothing was as impressive as seeing an absolutely giant Combiner Wars Devastator, which dwarfs its G1 counterpart, on display.
