THE X-FILES Officially Gets A Six-Episode Order From FOX

I think if you asked any sci-fi fan to think of something that just said “the 90s”, I think a reply would probably be The X-Files. The hit series ran for nine seasons and had two films produced. For years there has been talk of a third movie, but until today nothing has materialized. Like I said until today. The big news that broke across the web today is that FOX is bringing The X-Files back as a TV series event. More specifically, a six-episode event. This is similar to what they did with 24 which they brought back last year for a TV series event.

The X-Files event will include original series stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their respective roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Series creator Chris Carter will also be returning to oversee the episode, but to what capacity it is unknown. So, are we excited for this revival? For years fans have asked for more and here we are, six on deck, and just maybe FOX will consider more if it is a success?
