Apparently the Joe and Anthony Russo made huge impression on Marvel Studios with their highly successful Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Such an impression that the two have signed a deal to direct the third and fourth Avengers films. Current Avengers director Joss Whedon has already said he would not be returning to direct the next installment after Age of Ultron, which left a vacancy in the director’s chair and Marvel looking for a new director for the hit franchise. Now with today’s announcement things are back on track. The Russo brothers will start working on Captain America: Civil War (which is almost like an Avengers movie in itself with the number of characters involved), which is due to release on May 6, 2016. Then it looks like they will be setting their sights on Avengers: Infinity War, with Part 1 due to be released May 4, 2018; and Part 2 slated for May 3, 2019. This is certainly some exciting new considering how great The Winter Soldier was in terms of action and utilizing its source material. What do you think?
