Warner Bros. announced some exciting news for Hogwarts fans yesterday. Oscar winner, Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) will be starring in the upcoming spinoff trilogy based on J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beast” and “Where To Find Them” novels. Redmayne will be playing the role of Newt Scamander and his magical adventures that take place 70 years before Harry Potter ever received an invitation from an owl carrier to attend Hogwarts. Former Harry Potter producer, David Heyman, and director, David Yates, are being brought back as well to helm the project!
Warner Bros. announced the project back in late 2013, so it is good to finally see things starting to get underway (at least somewhat). Being a big Potter fan, I am feeling a Star Wars level of excitement that we will be returning to the Harry Potter universe again. Especially with J. K. Rowling doing the screenplay. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is slated for worldwide release on November 18, 2016. (Source: USA Today)
