Not sure how new this is to people, it is to me. A new trailer for The Last Days On Mars has been posted. Now this is my first introduction to the film too. And it looks pretty cool. I’m a sci-fi and horror movie junkie. So combine the two and you have a winner. This doesn’t always mean it is a successful winner at the box office, but something I will most likely be entertained by. The Last Days On Mars will be arriving on Video On Demand (VOD) first, on October 31st, then it will be released in select theaters in December. This doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a bad movie, especially since the cast has some solid acting chops to it, with the likes of Liev Schreiber and Elias Koteas among them.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
On the last day of the first manned mission to Mars, a crew member of Tantalus Base believes he has made an astounding discovery – fossilized evidence of bacterial life. Unwilling to let the relief crew claim all the glory, he disobeys orders to pack up and goes out on an unauthorized expedition to collect further samples. But a routine excavation turns to disaster when the porous ground collapses, and he falls into a deep crevice and near certain death. His devastated colleagues attempt to recover his body. However, when another vanishes they start to suspect that the life-form they have discovered is not yet dead. As the group begins to fall apart it seems their only hope is the imminent arrival of the relief ship Aurora.
Sounds interesting enough to me that I’ll be checking it out. And considering it arrives on Halloween night, it will make a great movie to view. The Last Days On Mars is directed by Ruairi Robinson, stars Liev Schreiber, Romola Garai, Elias Koteas, Olivia Williams, Johnny Harris, Goran Kostic, Tom Cullen, Yusra Warsama and is set to arrive on VOD on October 31, 2013, then in select theaters on December 6th.
