We finally have confirmation! Variety is reporting that The CW has greenlit The Flash and Arrow spinoff series. They have also confirmed that the show will be titled, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The show will feature a cast of characters consisting of heroes and villains from both The Flash and Arrow series, along with some newcomers.
Fans can look forward to seeing the time-traveling rogue named Rip Hunter who will be played by Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who), whom is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only the planet is at stake but all of time itself. Along with Darvill, Victor Garber (The Flash), Brandon Routh (Arrow), Caity Lotz (Arrow), Ciarra Renee and Franz Drameh star, alongside Dominic Purcell (The Flash) and Wentworth Miller (The Flash).
The series will be produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter. The first three many fans will recognize from existing CW series, Arrow and The Flash. Now premiere date has been given for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but according to Victor Garber, the series will start shooting in August and premiere in January 2016.
