Tamashii Nations’ feudal Japanese / Star Wars cross-overline is getting some new additions as the collectibles maker has revealed details for their Teppou Ashigaru Sandtrooper and Akazonae Royal Guard figures. While Tamashii’s S.H. Figuarts Star Wars figures cannot be sold in the U.S. because of licensing agreements, U.S. collectors will be glad to know that the Movie Realization figures will continue to be distributed domestically through Bluefin Distribution, so there’s no need to rely on third party importers.
Movie Realization Teppou Ashigaru Sandtrooper
The desert troopers serving the Empire, we first see the Sandtroopers on Luke Skywalker’s home planet of Tatooine in A New Hope. Tamashii’s Movie Realization Sandtrooper features the Imperial foot soldier’s orange shoulder pauldron and life support backpack, and includes two flintlock rifles and a Japanese sword with scabbard. ¥8,856 (approximately $75) and ships in February 2016.
Movie Realization Akazonae Royal Guard
The Akazonae Royal Guard, based on the Emperor’s Royal Guard seen in Return of the Jedi features the crimson red coloring associated with the Emperor’s most loyal protectors. The Movie Realization Royal Guard features a removable apron piece that reveals the figure’s chest armor complete with Imperial insignia and includes Japanese sword with scabbard and a staff, which serves as the reimagination of the force pike the guards carried. The Akazonae Guard is priced ¥8,856 (approximately $75) and is scheduled for an April 2016 release.
