Tamashii Nations is detailing their S.H. Figurats Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo and Donatello figures, based on the first animated series, which aired between 1987 to 1996. We first saw these figures at New York ComiCon in Nov. with revised versions making an appearance at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, in Germany, last month.
Tamashii’s Figuarts Leo stands approximately 5.9 inches tall and features a super articulated body. Leo includes two switch-out expressions–one with clenched teeth, one without–and three sets of interchangeable hands. Leo’s two swords can be stored in the belt at the back of his shell when not equipped, but when wielded the belt piece can be exchanged for one sans a sheath, which is a great piece of attention to detail. A manhole cover rounds out Leo’s accessories.
Like Leo, the Figuarts Donatello figure stands at about 5.9 inches tall and includes two switch-out expressions–one closed mouth, one open mouth perfect for eating pizza–and three sets of interchangeable hands. Donny includes a bo staff that can be stored in the belt at the back of his shell when not in battle. Again, the belt piece can be replaced with a standard sash piece when the bo staff is equipped. A slice of pizza is also included with Donny.
The S.H. Figuarts TMNT Leo and Donny figures are priced ¥7,020 ($62) and pre-orders for the pair open Feb. 12, with an Aug. release date. It’s worth noting that in Japan, the S.H. Figuarts Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leo and Donny figures are Tamashii Web exclusives.
