Tonight is a big night for those eagerly awaiting the premiere of the latest DC TV series, Supergirl. If you weren’t one of the ones that illegally downloaded the pilot a few months back, then this will be the first time seeing the episode. I know I am pretty excited to see it, because so far Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg have been on fire with the DC TV shows and I’m suspecting that this is another hit show.
Sure it looks like it has a different vibe than those on The CW, but it does take place in the same shared universe as those (or so we have been told). Okay, maybe not that different, at least from The Flash. Which is definitely a good thing considering how great that show it.
Up until now, the DC TV shows have mostly been a boys club, with Arrow, The Flash and Gotham. Sure there are female supporting casts for both shows, but the main heroes of the shows are men. Adding Supergirl into the mix is going to be something different and hopefully refreshing. Based on what we have seen so far in promo trailers and preview clips, I’m confident it will be.
Over the weekend, CBS posted a bunch of preview clips from tonight’s pilot episode, so if you would like to get a sampling of what the series will be like, then check them out.
Supergirl premieres tonight following an all new episode of Big Bang Theory at 8:30 p.m. EST, then starting next week, the series will then move to its regular scheduled Monday night time slot at 8 p.m. on November 2nd.
