‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Ends An Era On Cartoon Network, But This Is Not The End!

television-news-and-talkWell there is a bit of emotion going around on the internet today (I know, when isn’t there). I’m more specifically talking about Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The news that it is “ending” now that the fifth season finale has premiered earlier this month. Many were wondering what would happen to the popular Cartoon Network series after it was announced that Disney had purchased Lucasfilm LTD, which included the Star Wars brand. Would they move the series to Disney’s own XD channel? Though no official word has been mentioned, but now thanks to a loosely worded farewell over at the official Star Wars site, many are in panic.

After five highly successful and critically acclaimed seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we feel the time has come to wind down the series. While the studio is no longer producing new episodes for Cartoon Network, we’re continuing production on new Clone Wars story arcs that promise to be some of the most thrilling adventures ever seen. Stay tuned for more information on where fans can soon find this bonus content. In the video below, Supervising Director Dave Filoni offers a peek of what is to come in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

But if you carefully read that, it just states they are not producing new episodes for Cartoon Network, but are still working on new story arcs yet to be aired. This is probably their way of being nice about the transition from Cartoon Network to something new. Which is mostly likely Disney XD or some other Disney owned outlet. So while we don’t have any new Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes until the new season, there are more coming. The same can be said for the recently announced Star Wars Detours which will probably be finding a new home at Disney now too. (Source: StarWars.com)
