Star Wars: The Force Awakens Gets 3D Treatment With Fall Release

Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3DWhen Disney announced the Blu-ray release of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens, those of us who haven’t given up on 3D technology wondered if we’d ever get to enjoy the three-dimensional version of the film in the comfort of our homes. Disney promised we’d see it later this year and they’re keeping that promise, today, announcing Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition comes with four discs that include the original theatrical release on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, Digital HD, and DVD. In addition, bonus features from April’s Blu-ray release are included, as are brand-new bonus features including additional deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes conversations, and a never-before-released audio commentary by director J.J. Abrams.

The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition comes packaged with a lenticular printed cover, giving it a 3D effect. The set arrives in the U.S. can Canada on Nov. 15.
