Square Enix Cuts to the Chase With Variant Play Arts Kai Wolverine

Variant PlayArts Kai WolverineSquare Enix’s Variant Play Arts Kai line is one of the more interesting figure lines coming out of Japan. The artistic interpretations of pop culture’s most iconic characters result in some fantastic sculpts. For anyone who hasn’t seen Tetsuya Nomura’s Batman, it’ll give you a taste of what the Variant line is about.

Square continues the tradition of visually interesting design with their Variant Play Arts Kai Wolverine. Wolverine stands just over 10 inches tall, comes with seven interchangeable hands–clawed included–a katana and an alternate screaming portrait. The fully articulated figure is capable of achieving a variety of poses, including many of Logan’s signature stances seen in the pages of Marvel’s comics and is accompanied by a first stand.

The Variant Play Arts Kai Wolverine is priced ¥14,800, which is about $130. Look for the figure to arrive in May.
