SDCC 2014: Kotobukiya

SDCC 2014: Kotobukiya

Kotobukiya continues to deliver on-model sculpts and amazing portraits in its ARTFX, Fine Art  and Bishoujo statue lines. We were particularly impressed with the ARTFX+ Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia figures revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. Star Wars fans know spot-on portraits of Mark Hamil are rare, but we think you’ll agree Kotobukiya’s Hamil portrait is as close to perfect as you can get. Koto is also keeping things interesting with its Star Wars boiled egg and sandwich shapers because who doesn’t want a little Darth Vader PB&J action?

  • I really like this stuff. I like the stylized models. The girls are a little raunchy but I don’t mind that! As a podcast said ” My wife saw the Jaina Solo statue and asked about it.
That’s actually pretty covered up considering the other statue’s they make.. the other podcast host said yeah reading the entertainment earth catalogue sure is raunchy”

    • Koto’s ArtFX+ line is shaping up to be really nice looking. The brand manager, Dan, mentioned that when Luke and Leia are released, they’ll fit together with Han and Chewy to form a really nice display of the big 4.

      • I know the Image your talking about just can’t find it! It’s one of the main promotional images used when they released the film. Weird calling them the Big 4 because fans mostly call them the big 3. Chewbacca doesn’t count as a main character. I don’t really like him and I know I’m in the minority.
