Review: NECA Pacific Rim Jaeger Series 6 “Reactor Blast” Gipsy Danger Figure

Following yesterday’s look at the NECA Pacific Rim Jaeger Series 6 Horizon Brave Figure, we are going to take a look at the second Jaeger in the latest series, the Series 6 “Reactor Blast” Gipsy Danger Figure. Based on the look of Gipsy Danger towards the end of the movie, this latest version features a very battle damaged Jaeger.

It is almost hard to believe that this is the fifth Gipsy Danger figure released so far in the popular line of Jaegers. This version uses new tooling that was introduced in Series 5. It stands in at 7″ tall and features over 20 points of articulation. The sculpt features a missing right arm that has some incredible detail showing the damage done to the Jaeger. There are other “battle damaged” areas on the figure that are done nicely in sculpted detail.

The “Reactor Blast” Gipsy Danger comes with a couple of accessories, a chain-sword that fits into a tab slot in the left arm and a simulated “Reactor Blast” that fits into the nuclear reactor part of the chest. The blast is made of a translucent plastic giving it a “flame look.” There is a notch in the top part of the blast that fits in the chest, this lines up with tab in the reactor area to give it a snug fit.

Though this isn’t necessarily a key figure in the series, it is still a pretty cool version to have. Plus it allows you to recreate a key point of the story. Thus it becomes a unique figure in itself. The NECA Pacific Rim Deluxe 7″ Series 6 Reactor Blast Gipsy Danger Action Figure is available on Amazon and if you order the Series 6 Horizon Brave Figure with it, they are both eligible for the free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
