Professor Zoom (aka Reverse-Flash) To Be In ‘The Flash’ TV Series?

television-tv-news-and-talkI’m almost inclined to say, that you can’t have The Flash without Professor Zoom, aka The Reverse-Flash. He has played a pivotal part of The Flash/Barry Allen’s life. Especially considering he killed Allen’s one true love, Iris West. Most recently Professor Zoom was the catalyst for DC’s Flashpoint event which drastically altered the DC Universe to create the New 52 reality.

So when Bludhaven Banter reported that the upcoming Flash TV series will feature a character called “Detective Eddie Thawne” which sounds a lot like Eobard Thawne, the name of Professor Zoom.

The description for the character states that he is “leading man handsome” (late 20s-early/mid 30s) and has recently transferred to Central City Police Department from Keystone. Thawne is set to be loved within the precinct and takes the credit for a lot of things that Barry can’t. (We assume this’ll mean he takes credit for some of The Flash’s work, but that’s just speculation on our part). However, the most intriguing part about this character is that his past will be a complete mystery. No one knows where he comes from, and he “harbors a dark secret”. That does sound very ambiguous, but as a comic fan, it’s easy to put one-and-one together to make two.

I’m not too surprised by this report. Especially since the creative team behind the show are the same ones working on Arrow. So bringing the DC Universe into the show should come as no surprise. And considering what effect Professor Zoom has on The Flash, I would think it is a must. (Source: Bludhaven Banter)
