When it was first revealed that Neil Gaiman’s character Angela was heading to the Marvel Universe, I was left scratching my head a little. See up to the point of the announcement, she was a character found in Image Comics, mainly in Spawn. So to hear she was heading to Marvel Comics, I thought this was a little ironic, she was a creator-owned character at company that was formed by founders that left Marvel to create and maintain their own works. You can see what it is a little odd that Angela was appearing in Marvel’s books.
For the past few months, Angela has been hanging with the Guardians of the Galaxy. And more importantly, during the recent Original Sin event, it was revealed that she is Thor’s sister. This is how they are weaving this character into the Marvel Universe. Now she is to get her own solo ongoing series titled, Angela: Asgard’s Assassin. It will be written by Kieron Gillen and Marguerite Bennett, with art by Phil Jimenez and Stephanie Hans. The first issue is heading our way on December 3rd, but before then you can check out a preview of the book below. (Source: Marvel)
