Nintendo Announces Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon 3DS Games for Holiday 2016 Release

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon MoonPokemon turns 20 tomorrow and to celebrate, Nintendo is releasing two new Pokemon games, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, for the 3DS this holiday.

While fans await the two new games coming in late 2016, Nintendo will make the classic Gameboy versions of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow available for digital download on the Nintendo eShop starting tomorrow. The games are priced $9.99 each.

Nintendo also announced that anyone playing Pokemon games for the Nintendo 3DS as well as the upcoming eShop classics will now be able to bring their captured Pokemon into the Sun and Moon games, when they’re released, thanks to a digital storage service called the Pokemon Bank.

On February 27, 1996, the first Pokemon games, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green were released for the Nintendo Gameboy, in Japan.
