In its latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showcased its upcoming releases for the portable 3DS system, while revealing a handful of new Amiibo figures compatible with its forthcoming games.
Nintendo’s newest Amiibos include a yarn version of Yoshi’s sidekick Poochy that will help unlock special content in both Yoshi’s Wooly World for the Wii U and a newly revealed Wooly World game for the 3DS handheld. Poochy will be available starting Feb. 2017.
Four new Amiibo based on the action-adventure series The Legend of Zelda are also coming later this year. An 8-bit version of Link based on the franchise’s inaugural game leads the lineup with Toon Link and Zelda Amiibo from the cell-shaded Wind Waker and a Link based on his more mature appearance in Ocarina of Time rounding things out. All four The Legend of Zelda Amiibo figures will be available on Dec. 2.
