The latest wave of Nintendo Amiibo interactive figures, slated for release this spring, was revealed by the Japanese game-maker in its latest Direct media event. The newly announced Amiibo characters include Pac-Man, Wario, Robin, Lucina, Ness and Charizard.
Nintendo has also revealed a new Super Marios Series of Amiibos that revisits some previously released characters. These Amiibo figures will be compatible with and launch alongside Mario Party 10 on March 20. The Super Mario Series Amiibo figures include Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi and Bowser.
Nintendo decided to revisit these characters because each Amiibo can only store data for one game. This meant owners of the Super Smash Bros. who used their Amiibo figures to save game data would need to delete the Amiibo’s data to use it with Mario Party 10. Despite being physically different, the revised Amiibo figures will not differ from their predecessors, in gameplay.
