New Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer Released in the U.K.

A second, nearly all new, Guardians of the Galaxy trailer was released to U.K. audiences, today. The new trailer reveals some of Peter Quills back-story, includes more dialog from Rocket Raccoon and when coupled with the second U.S. trailer, starts to paint a better picture of the Guardians of the Galaxy plot. Audiophiles will also pick up on the different audio track in the U.K. Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, which is a more customary sci-fi sound than the comedic track used in the U.S. equivalent. Marvel UK’s YouTube channel included the following description with the trailer:

An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Guardians of the Galaxy opens in cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland on Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1 in the U.S.

  • I’m looking forward to this one. Marvel films are always good and hopefully this will do well. I hope People like Rocket Raccoon otherwise this will bomb. Reminds me Of Firefly which I love. I have a problem though I feel like I’ve seen most of the film’s plot. This isn’t like TWS were nothing was given away.- The Huge Spoiler if you know what I’m talking about.

    • I think everyone already loves Rocket. It’s just a matter of Marvel making sure that everyone else is just as likeable. They found a great formula for Avengers, which I didn’t think they could pull off and they seem to be very confident about Guardians.

Not sure about the Funko figures. I thought I read something about it, but let me reach out to Funko and confirm.

      • Do they? Of the people who know about it where I live most of my friends just laughed and thought what the heck is it. One of my friends didn’t even want to see it at all. I think the rest will be likeable but I worry about Drax and Groot. Starlord will be the star and Nebula will kick A**. I hope the villains are well developed. Yes please do try to confirm the Funko thing because if it’s true I’m going to pick up some of them. Do you know of/ collect the POP line?

        • I am familiar with their POP line, but I don’t collect it because it would be too much for me. My focus is figures and the POPs are a slippery slope I’d prefer not to go down 😉

          • hey now!

          • I understand there’s about 20 from GOT. They look alright just wondered if you knew if they retail here and for how much. I might pick a few for the computer desk. I also wanted to see what else is available but I’ll look it up though.

          • A little secret about the Funko exclusives is that while they are SDCC exclusives, you can also buy them on Amazon. I’m not certain if it’s during the show or right after, but they will all end up on Amazon. I’ll post a note when they do.

          • it’s during the show. last year they had posters up about it with a qr code taking you directly to them on amazon so you didn’t have to wait in line.

          • Ah I didn’t communicate properly too you. I meant the Mini series line. The Big ones are alright but too expensive for what they are. I couldn’t really find much information about them here. From what I can tell they are 2 1/2 inches and they are available from book shops. Price varies but I think about £3.00 each? May you have a look? Some places had them at £10 each and others less so I’m not quite sure. I might just wait to see if I can get one in the wild. I also don’t like the blind bag aspect of it. I mean I do and I don’t. I remember being endlessly disappointed when getting Lego figures. I don’t want to end up with a garrom character. I want a Jon Snow and a White Walker. I just finished Season two by the way.

          • Oh I don’t know much about the minis. I’ve seen that they have them, but usually the bind box aspect is a turn-off for me. I’d search around to see if they come in any particular order as reported by web sites. A lot of times, the figures will be arranged in an order when boxed so if they’re 3 per row and 3 per column and you can confirm someone has opened the middle figure in the first row, you’ll pretty much guarantee you’ll get that figure (or its variant) so long as the box you’re purchasing from hasn’t been rearranged.

          • I never knew that. I will look around but first I have to make sure shops around here stock them! and there not too expensive. Is that the same for the Lego minifigures?
