Microsoft has announced that its opening cross-network play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games via Xbox Live. The move will allow players on either device to play against one another on the Microsoft game service.
Rocket League, a physics-based vehicle soccer game by Psyonix will be the first playable cross-network game. It’s expected to kick off later this spring.
Microsoft has also issued an open invitation to other networks–PlayStation and Nintendo–to join the cross-platform movement. While the gesture is intriguing, it would require console makers natively support Windows 10, making it highly unlikely.
