Mattel SDCC 2014 Reveals Cross the Finish Line

Mattel Hot Wheels Homer Simpson

Two more Mattel San Diego Comic-Con 2014 exclusives are here. Hot Wheels brings up two cars that are “everything the average man ever dreamed of,” but in completely different ways.

The Simpsons merchandise has certainly seen an uptick this year, with Lego, NECA figures, and plush. Not to be outdone, the Homer is the vehicle its namesake constructed as the ideal car. In true Homer Simpson fashion, of course, this destroys his half-bother Herb’s car company. The bubble domes, the tailfin, and the paint has been reproduced faithfully for the not-so-costly price tag of $30.

Joining the Homer is the most recognized James Bond vehicle in the movie series: the Aston Martin DB5. It’s a gorgeous piece, well-guarded beneath a clear plastic cell so you can admire it safely. The limited nature of this dream car in impressive ring box-style packaging will cost $20 at the show.

If you don’t want to chance losing out on the Hot Wheels, or any SDCC exclusive, Club Eternia subscribers will have exclusive Early Access for pre-orders on June 23 at 11 a.m. ET for pick up at the show. It appears He-Man isn’t the only one that has “the Power.”

Two of my favorite things, Simpsons and James Bond :)

    • But are you a Hot Wheels fan is the question? Besides the celebrity series from NECA, we’re in need to an updated Simpsons line. The same can be said for Bond. Daniel Craig as 007 still lacks a proper license sixth-scale figure.

Not really, but I might have to make an exception for these two :)
I completely agree about an updated Simpsons line. The Daniel Craig James Bond movies are too good not to have merchandise to support them, some company needs to do something. Sideshow maybe?

  • I hate the Simpsons and Never seen James Bond properly. I liked Sean Connery in Indiana Jones so it should be good. I will have to watch it when I get around to it.

Hate the Simpsons? Say it isn’t so! :)

I’m a huge Simpsons fan, but The Simpsons hasn’t been very good in recent seasons. The golden years of The Simpsons are long gone. It’s crazy to think it has been on for over 20 years though! James Bond is one of my favorite film franchises. I highly recommend checking them out at some point. Sean Connery and Daniel Craig are my favorite James Bonds.

      • I watched it everyday when I was a child but it soon became boring and I do hate it. I prefer Family Guy. It’s just a case of getting the time to watch the bond films.
