Marvel’s Kevin Feige spoke with MTV recently, discussing Marvel’s current “Phase Two” of movies, and to the future with “Phase Three” projects like Ant Man. He even goes on to mention that Doctor Strange is definitely one that is being looked at and considered for a future Marvel movie.
“‘Doctor Strange,’ which I’ve been talking about for years, is definitely one of them,” he confirmed. “He’s a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have, just like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is ‘Ant-Man,’ which keeps us excited.”
This is pretty exciting. Doctor Strange is a fun character and could be something great. But I’m almost inclined to think he would be better suited for a TV series. I’ll take either one though. (Source: MTV Splash Page)
Also, in a recent interview, actress Cobie Smulders mentioned that it is being looked at to have her Avengers‘ character, Maria Hill, be apart of the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series in addition to her returning for Captain America: The Winter Solider. She says there are talks to make this happen and that her current show How I Met Your Mother would not affect it.
But that reluctance to feature established MCU characters apparently doesn’t apply to S.H.I.E.L.D. members like Coulson and Maria Hill. Smulders hinted at her possible casting in an interview with IAmRogue. “The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it,” she said. “And I can’t really say but there are definite talks about it.”
This would be a great addition, and definitely help to further bridge the show with the Marvel movie universe. Especially with the addition of Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson in the mix too. (Source: /film)
