Marvel has announced that production for Captain America: Civil War has started today. The principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia is now underway. This will server as the film’s base of production, as well as locations in Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland.
It has also been revealed that Paul Rudd who will be playing the titular role of Ant-Man this summer, will also be joining the film. This will be Rudd’s first appearance at the side of the Avengers.
Along with the addition of Rudd, Marvel has also revealed that Emily VanCamp will be returning and reprising her role as Agent 13/Sharon Carter too.

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, starring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., along with Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Bruhl, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Don Cheadle, Chadwick Boseman, Martin Freeman, William Hurt, and Paul Rudd. It is scheduled to open in theaters on May 6, 2016.
