Leaked Concept Art for Bungie’s Next Project, Destiny

video-games-gaming-newsLittle was known up until recently about Bungie‘s next game project, Destiny. A follow-up to their run on Halo, this next project has been created to be just as big. With multiple games, and DLC planned if it is successful. Some details along with concept art have been leaked by an ad agency that is working with Bungie, which include a document describing the project and some concept art. The document contains the following description:

“Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.” Elsewhere in the document, the massive alien ship is referred to as “the Traveler.”

Bungie has responded to the leak confirming the information and released another piece of concept art (image with giant walking tank in background of soldier in arctic conditions) for fans. It is also noted, “that the agency-provided images do seem to be mock-ups for advertising purposes and are likely based on previously existing imagery.” So not all the art shown is for Destiny, the mood and feel is what you should be looking at here. Destiny is will most likely be available for both PlayStation and Xbox, but probably for the next generation of both. (Source: IGN)
