Latest Nintendo Direct Packed With New Footage, Announcements And Game Reveals


Nintendo’s has crammed an abundance of new footage, announcements and game reveals into its latest Nintendo Direct.

While most of the previous Nintendo Direct briefings have been headlined by a prominent announcement or reveal, that wasn’t the case this time. Instead, Nintendo focused its 40-minute digital press release on the diversity of its game portfolio for both the Wii U and 3DS. Some of the highlights include:

  • Star Fox Zero is finally ready to launch on Wii U and will include a second game titled Star Fox Guard
  • Splatoon is getting another update with more fine tuning in order to level the playing field in the multiplayer mode even further
  • Super Mario Maker updates are coming this month with new items including keys, pink coins and skewers
  • Paper Mario Color Splash is coming with Wii U in 2016
  • Pokken Tournament – Wii U launch copies will include an exclusive Shadow MewTwo Amiibo card
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD ships March 4 and the new gameplay features will be highlighted in a developer video that will launch on Nintendo’s YouTube channel the same day
  • Registration for My Nintendo, the successor to Club Nintendo, is now oprn for pre-registration
  • Mini Mario & Friends Amiibo Challenge is a free to download Wii U and 3DS game played with Nintendo’s RFID-equipped figurines
  • New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console will include a library of SNES Games including Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Metriod
  • Hyrule Warriors: Legends for the 3DS will launch with new characters that will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors – Nintendo Wii U for the Wii U
  • Disney Art Academy for the 3DS will teach you how to draw Disney and Pixar’s most iconic characters
  • Monster Hunter X is coming to the U.S. under the title Monster Hunter Generations
  • Metroid Prime: Federation Force footage shows the game having a very Halo-like feel
  • Kirby: Planet Robobot is the return of the pink puff to the 3DS and will launch with new line of Kirby series Amiibo figures
