Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub To Do Voice-Overs in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Reboot

hollywood-movie-newsI’m not sure what to think of this latest Ninja Turtles reboot news. It certainly has been not taken too well in the geek community. Deadline is reporting that Johnny Knoxville (Bad Grandpa) has been added to voice the role of Leonardo, and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) will be voicing Splinter.

For filming purposes, Pete Ploszek played the role of Leonardo and Seinfeld’s Danny Woodburn fulfilled the role of Splinter. Their parts were not guaranteed anything more than the physical roles. So the voice parts were up in the air until now. So what do you think?

Also, the recent rumor of the film being delayed because of reshoots was only partially true. There will be some reshoots, which are common in movie production, but according to producer Michael Bay, who responded on Twitter, the movie is not being delayed.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn and William Fichtner, it is due to arrive in theaters on August 8. (Source: Deadline)

You know, the show on Nickelodeon has Jason Biggs as Leo. And I was really surprised when I read that because I actually what he’s doing. Never expected him to have it in him. Johnny, well, who knows? Maybe he is actually a good voice actor. Tony Shalhoub as Splinter…ehhhh, I like him, but he isn’t going to be the same Splinter. I dont know what to think of this. It looks bad, and this movie just keeps getting more and more out there with the choices they have made. Its like Guardians of the Galaxy. Hey, lets put Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Bautista in the movie and let’s see what happens. Crazy choice in casting, but in Guardians’ case, it actually works and looks good. This, not so much.

You know I agree, I never thought Jason Biggs would make such a great Leo, just goes to show you never know. Have faith , I have a feeling this film will turn out to be a huge relief to TMNT fans

    • They played the trailer for Ninja Turtles last night in front of Cap2, the audience reaction wasn’t that great. Mostly laughing at it and not the comical parts. I’m not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling for the success of the movie.
