Is Zack Snyder’s Next Project A ‘Star Wars’ Samurai Movie? [UPDATED]

hollywood-movie-newsSoon after news of the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm and the rights to Star Wars, news and rumors of directors working on the announced sequels became aplenty. To the point of being annoying. One name that was thrown around was director Zack Snyder (300, Watchman, Man of Steel), who was quick to deny working on any of the Star Wars Episodes VII, VII or IX sequels. But it might seem that was more of a, read between the lines kind of thing. It is now being reported that after he finishes up on Man of Steel for Warner Bros., he will be turning his attention to the Star Wars Universe. Though it won’t be on Episode VII, but a standalone film inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai movie, featuring a group of Jedi warriors on a mission. Now this is still much a rumor until some official announcement is made, but it does sound very cool if true. (Source: Vulture via /Film

UPDATED: Well it seems this was nothing more than rumor as I stated it very well could be. Snyder’s spokesperson spoke with The Hollywood Reported and debunked the report that he would be working on any Star Wars film, Episode sequels or spin-offs. (Source: THR)
