Normally when I hear some casting announcements for the Marvel movies I scratch my head, then say, well they have done right so far. Then there are others and I really wonder where they are going with this. This latest bit of casting news is just that. HitFix is reporting that John C. Reilly (Wreck-It Ralph, Step Brothers, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby) has been offered a role in Guardians of the Galaxy. The role is said to be Rhomann Dey, the Nova Corps Prime. In the Marvel Comic books, Rhomann Dey is an alien, but according to the article, that is going to be changed. It also says he will kind of be the go between for the Guardians and S.H.I.E.L.D. apparently.
There are also potentially big spoilers in the article too, as it reveals that Michael Rooker, whom is playing Yondu, is the film’s main bad guy. It also says that Lee Pace‘s character (yet to be revealed, possibly Nova or Adam Warlock) is a villain too, but switches sides. I have to say this movie so far has been curve ball after curve ball in the casting, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just very interesting. Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled for a release date of August 1, 2014. (Source: HitFix)
