Is Another Star Wars RPG In The Works…Maybe?

video-games-gaming-newsGame developer Obsidian‘s last Star Wars role-playing game Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 2, went on to win several game of the year awards on the X-box console. It was one of my favorite games in that generation. It now looks like Obsidian may be working on a follow-up for the next generation of consoles. Obsidian‘s CEO Feargus Urquhart recently discussed the story they are working on for the sequel…

“We pitched a between-Episode III and Episode IV game [to LucasArts]. Because we think that timeframe is super interesting. It’s the fall of the Republic, the extermination of the Jedi, it’s Obi-Wan going off and making sure Luke is OK. You have the Sith, but you have the extermination of all Force users except for very, very few. So it was an interesting time to set a game, and you know, Chris Avellone came up with a really cool story.”

The company has yet to pitch the game to Disney, but with the recent success of the earlier Star Wars RPG’s and their close relationship with LucasArts, I think this rumor is a pretty safe bet. We shall see. (Source: GameInformer)
