‘Hunted’ New Cinemax Series Coming in October

television-news-and-talkI think Cinemax is probably more known for its “softcore porn”, than original programming, hence the nickname “Skinemax”. But lately they have made a new name for themselves, and it involves some great original series. Like ‘Strike Back‘ — a joint project with British Sky1 TV channel — which they are in their second season with. Now joining this great original action programming will be ‘Hunted‘.

Think of it as a bit of ‘Bourne‘, mixed with some ‘Salt‘ (which was kind of already a female version of the ‘Bourne’ franchise). The series is from ‘X-Files’ writer & producer Frank Spotnitz and is starring Melissa George. It will be debuting on Friday, October 19th at 10pm EST. So if you like action spy/espionage shows, and wanted more than what ’24’ delivered, then this might just be for you.

From “X-Files” writer and producer Frank Spotnitz comes this eight-episode drama set in the world of international espionage. Golden Globe nominee Melissa George stars as an operative for an elite private intelligence firm [Byzantium Security International] who survives an attempt on her life that may have been orchestrated by members of her own team; when she returns to work, she doesn’t know who to trust. The series is shooting in Europe and debuts this fall on Cinemax.
