We have been hearing about a live action Assassin’s Creed blockbuster for some time now. So far we have confirmed a writer with Michael Lesslie and the lead role with Michael Fassbender. Now it looks like we may have a director lined up!
According to Twitch Film, director Daniel Espinosa has been mentioned to take the directors chair. Espinosa is best known for directing Safe House which recieved mixed reviews. Suppose we shall have to wait and see. Assassin’s Creed has a target release date on August 7th, 2015. (Source: Twitch Film)
That ASSASSIN’S CREED movie is still scheduled to be released on August 7th, 2015, but the film is still taking forever to gain headway, and has yet to even sign a director. The latest rumor, which first popped up on TwitchFilm, is that SAFE HOUSE director Daniel Espinosa will make it his next film after the Tom Hardy/Noomi Rapace thriller CHILD 44. If he’s going to knock this film out in the next year and a half, he has to wrap up that film first, and then immediately jump on this full time. If he ends up being more than a hired gun, and actually wants major script/pre-production input, don’t be surprised to see this pushed back immediately following (or perhaps accompanying) an official announcement of his hiring.
