Harmony Gold Wants Your Help With The ‘Robotech Academy’ Kickstarter

television-news-and-talkOne of the most popular Japanese anime is probably Robotech. Reaching all the way over to our TVs in the ’80s, Robotech was a weekday afternoon must see for many kids growing up. Over the years it has still been a fan favorite, and now Harmony Gold wants to bring more Robotech to fans.

They have launched a Kickstarter for Robotech Academy, a new Robotech series based on Carl Macek’s last project at Harmony Gold. They are looking to raise $500,000 to create a pilot episode for a new series. This is to gauge fan interest in a new series. Right now they have about 10% of that goal with 32 days left. There are a number of rewards for the project, which you can check out here.

Screw ’em. The best thing to happen to the franchise would be for HG to be stripped of their ownership rights. I don’t know how or even if that can happen, but I sure as heck am not going to help fund their legal team.

    • Well don’t have to worry now, they cancelled the Kickstarter, didn’t even get to 50% and they only had a few days left.
