Tonight’s episode of Gotham actually felt like a turn for the better on the show. Not sure if it was because it was written by co-executive producer Ben Edlund, or not, but it finally felt like the series found a voice of its own. In next week’s episode, “Penguin’s Umbrella,” things look they could reach a boiling point for Gordon, especially after the finale of tonight’s episode. And it also looks like this is where they introduce the Batman villain known as, Victor Zsasz (guest-star Anthony Carrigan).
As violence between Maroni and Falcone continues to escalate, Penguin reveals a new element of his manipulative strategy, forcing Gordon to deal with the consequences of his decision to spare Penguin’s life.
Gotham stars Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (aka The Penguin), Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Corey Michael Smith as Edward Nygma (aka The Riddler), Clare Foley as Ivy Pepper (aka Poison Ivy), David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, and Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman). New episodes of Gotham premiere on Mondays at 8pm EST on Fox.
