The eagerly anticipated season 4 premier of Game of Thrones kicked off with a twist. Instead of being greeted by the familiar fanfare and faces of Westeros and Essos, those looking to watch the premier via HBO’s online streaming service, HBO Go, were met with a never-ending loading message. Fans took to social media to express their frustration making #HBOGO one of the top hashtags Sunday evening.
HBO confirmed the series premier crashed the Go service, apologizing for the service disruption on Twitter, noting that the series would replay later that evening for subscribers to the premium cable service. This begs the question… was HBO giving us what we pay (or don’t pay) for?
