So if you hear some cursing in the distance right now, don’t be surprise to find out it is writer, Alan Moore. Why you ask? Well, you see, FOX has ordered a pilot based on his comic series, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. And we all know how he loves to have his work adapted into movies. We’ve already had a movie based on the comic book series, but now Fox is looking to bring this into your homes as a TV series. The first script is being written and produced by Michael Green (Green Lantern, Kings, Heroes) who will also be the project’s showrunner.
For those unfamiliar with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the basic premise is a group of Victoria characters including Dr. Jekyl, Allan Quartermain, Captain Nemo and the Invisible Man working together. This is a “put pilot,” which means that even if the network opts not to greenlight a series, it is obligated to air the pilot. So good or bad, we’ll get to see something. There are no other details available at this time. Hopefully more will come soon, maybe at Comic-Con next week. (Source: TVbytheNumbers)
