The First ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Trailer Has Finally Arrived!

hollywood-movie-newsAs it was reported last month, the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer will be arriving with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But it looks like we will be getting an early look at it, as it has been posted online today.

This is our first look at the Michael Bay reboot of the Ninja Turtles. For months we have wondered what to expect. With glimpses here and there, most from action figures, but we have yet to have a proper look, until now. So what do you think?

Does anyone else get the impression that the movie is still called “Ninja Turtles” and that the “Teenage Mutant” part was just added to make everyone shut up? That is kind of how it is looking to me.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn and William Fichtner, it is due to arrive in theaters on August 8.

The official synopsis:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

Being a huge TMNT fan, I loved it. The voice actors really nailed the spirit of the turtles. Loved the snow mountian “batter up” scene.

I just don’t know what to think of this. I grew up on turtles, my kids are enjoying the turtles show they have on Nickelodeon and I show them the older stuff too, which they enjoy, but this is….different. The subway scene where April is saved is a clear shout out to the original movie. But, whats up with the Foot? Shredder, I like the actor, but, eh? They are pretty huge, they should have stuck “Mutant” in the title because they sure are looking like it now. And Mikey…why did you take off your mask, man? No one wants to see you as Shrek -__- Ahhh, I don’t know. What I do find interesting though is they are putting the Nickelodeon name on it, so Im wondering how that is going to change things.

    • I’m still not sure what to think at this point. Better than what I ws expecting, but still not great. Also, Nickelodeon’s name is on it, because they own the rights to the Turtles now.

      • Nick

Yeah, Nickelodeon owns it, I guess I meant, will it change the way the movie is by putting a kids television network on the credits. Like, will they try not to be as gritty and hard hitting as we are being led on to believe, because it says that. Then again, Transformers has Hasbro’s name on it, yet Michael Bay runs wild with whatever humping robots he wants.

        • Gotcha, good question. I’m thinking it won’t have too much affect on it.
