A First Look at ‘Powers’ TV Series, With New York Comic Con Trailer

Originally heading to the FX Network, but the network passed on it, the Powers TV series found a new home with the PlayStation Network. At the New York Comic Con this weekend during a panel, the PlayStation Original Series first trailer was shown. It has since been posted online for everyone to view.

Based on the comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming of the same name, Powers follows the lives of two homicide detectives Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward). They are assigned to investigate cases involving persons with superhuman abilities, often called “Powers.” The series asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals?

Powers also stars Susan Heyward, Noah Taylor, Eddie Izzard, Olesya Rulin, and Logan Browning. It will be available this winter on the PlayStation platform, where owners will be able to download/stream episodes. PlayStation Plus members will be able to view the entire Powers series for free and get exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. Episode 1 will be available free to everyone, regardless if you own a PlayStation or not.
