Born from the depths of Krypton, Doomsday is best know as the villain that “killed” Superman. Although Doomsday made a cameo debut in Superman: The Man of Steel #17, his appearance in December 1992’s Superman The Man of Steel #18 was his first feature role in the DC Universe. In fact, the team at Mattel revealed the cover of Superman The Man of Steel #18 was the inspiration for the packaging design of their San Diego Comic-Con exclusive DC Universe Classics Doomsday figure, set for release next month.
Mattel’s DC Universe Classics Doomsday stands nearly 10 inches tall, features 19 points of articulation and includes the remnants of the ancient burial cables from which he broke free. Doomsday is ready to battle Superman, and San Diego Comic-Con attendees can purchase a voucher to pick up their DC Universe Classics Doomsday at the show starting at 9 a.m. PST on June 24 at MattyCollector.com. If you’re a Club Eternia subscriber, you’ll get your chance to purchase Doomsday a day earlier, on June 23 at 8 a.m. PST, as part of your early access benefits.
If you’re not attending Comic-Con, you can purchase Doomsday on August 5 at MattyCollector.com or August 4 for Club Eternia subscribers with early access.
