First Clips From DC’s Standalone Wonder Woman Movie Arrive

We have our first look at the standalone Wonder Woman feature film, thanks to a Kevin Smith-hosted special on The CW titled DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, which aired on the network, yesterday.

Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, will reprise her role as the Amazonian warrior princess for the standalone Wonder Woman film. The film is Wonder Woman’s first headlining feature to hit the silver-screen in the character’s 75-year history–although a television series starring Lynda Carter did air on ABC in the mid-to-late ’70s. Wonder Woman tells the character’s origin story beginning on the island of Themyscira with filming locations including the UK, France and Italy.

In addition to Gadot, Wonder Woman stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. The Patty Jenkins directed film is scheduled to open in theaters June 23, 2017.
