Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo the directors at the helm of Marvel’s forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War have confirmed that movie features 68 distinct characters.
The duo corrected an earlier report where they mistakenly noted 67 characters were tapped to appear in Infinity War. The Russo brothers realize the challenge of integrating such a large number of characters into a movie and told Cleveland.com that it was necessary to tell the story.
“We have to tell a story and that story has to be built around the characters’ emotional arcs.”
The first part of the two-part Avengers: Infinity War series opens in theaters on May 4, 2018. Part 2 will follow in May 2019.
