Cartoon Network Pulls DC Nation Without Warning to Fans and Creators!

television-news-and-talkI saw something come across Twitter on Friday night that the schedule for DC Nation changed very last minute on Cartoon Network for this past Saturday. This happened so sudden that cable companies didn’t even know, so most channel guides and DVRs still showed them in their regular time slots, and recorded Young Justice: Invasion and Green Lantern: The Animated Series as normal. But, those shows didn’t air, they had been replaced with Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon tie-in series, Dragons: Riders of Berk. Other than that, there was no explanation as to what was going on.

Not it seems that we have a little more info into what happened. Apparently this change was so sudden that not only did it catch the fans by surprise, Cartoon Network didn’t even tell the respective show’s creators too. They have since taken to social media sites, Twitter and Facebook to say that DC Nation will return in January 2013 with all-new episodes. So only two episodes managed to get released after DC Nation returned on September 29th after a 3 month hiatus.

Many are still left wondering what exactly happened to prompt this sudden, unexplained change to the schedule. Apparently, some are speculating that it might have to do with DC possibly losing the rights to the Milestone characters, of which both Icon and Rocket have been in a few episodes of Young Justice. UPDATE: And the losing rights to the Milestone characters theory seems highly unlikely since DC still has the rights to them.

Asked whether Milestone characters will play in to the New 52, Cunningham said simply “Yes.” (Via CBR)

An African-American fan asked if there were any plans to bring Static Shock over to the Teen Titans, to more audience applause, and asked about Icon, Hardware, Rocket and the rest of the Milestone characters. (Via CBR)
