Last week it was reported that director Mathew Vaughn would not be directing the next X-Men movie installment, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’ The then rumor was that Bryan Singer would be stepping in to direct the movie. Many fans will recognize Singer as the director to X-Men & X2 (among directing and producing other popular movies and TV series). As of yesterday evening, that rumor has proved to be true. Marvel has confirmed that Bryan Singer will now be the director for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’
Bryan Singer is set to return to the director’s chair in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” scheduled to hit theaters July 18, 2014.
Singer previously directed “X-Men” and “X2,” and most recently produced and co-wrote the story for 2011’s “X-Men: First Class.”
Stay tuned to Marvel.com for all things X-Men, and don’t forget “The Wolverine” also hits theaters July 26, 2013!
So it seems that the next X-Men movie will be in good hands with someone who has previous experience with the movie. ‘Days of Future Past‘ is based on ‘The Uncanny X-Men‘ issues #141 and #142 by Chris Claremont and John Byrne and regarded as one of the most popular and important X-Men stories. So it is good to hear someone that cares about the franchise, is handling this important event from the X-Men universe. (Source: Marvel)
