A Blackout Is Coming to “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

television-news-and-talkWith still a few episodes left of the first season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., they are definitely trying to turn the ship around. They have brought in Bill Paxton to play Agent Garrison, turned an existing character into a Deathlok, had Jaimie Alexander reprise her role as Sif from the Thor films, now they are adding another Marvel Universe character.

Now, Blackout is coming, whom will first be featured in episode #18 titled “Providence,” then returning for episode #19. Playing Blackout is Patrick Brennan (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, The Black Donnellys).

In the Marvel Universe there have been two characters to use the name Blackout, Marcus Daniels, who first appeared in Marvel Comics Nova #19 in 1978; and a half-demon that first appeared in Ghost Rider (1990). This Blackout is the former, where he gains his powers from an experiment gone wrong. Unlike the version in the comics that controlled the Darkforce dimensional energies though, this one will have the ability to suck the energy out of anything around him.

If you head on over to Marvel.com you can read an interview with Patrick Brennan. You can catch Blackout’s first appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Tuesday, April 15th at 8pm EST on ABC. (Source: Marvel)
