Bill Paxton to Become An Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

television-tv-news-and-talkWell this is interesting, TV Guide is reporting that Bill Paxton (Aliens, Twister) is joining the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in late February/early March. He’ll be playing the role of Agent John Garrett, “a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson, with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger… [W]hen Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn’t like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He’s going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two.

Paxton will be joining for a four-episode stint, and I have to say, I’m pretty excited for this. This may be just what the show needs, Paxtonizing! The character of John Garrett was first introduced in Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiwicz’s 1980s “Elektra: Assassin” mini-series, making him another character to take the leap from print to television. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Tuesdays at 8pm EST on ABC. (Source: TV Guide)
